Review:
In New York, the insider trader Martin Taylor (Channing Tatum) is released after four years in prison, and his mother and his wife, Emily Taylor (Rooney Mara) to welcome him. Suddenly Emily depression and tries to commit suicide by hitting her car to the wall in the garage. Emily goes to the hospital and psychiatrist Dr. Jonathan Banks (Jude Law) refers to her, and she decides to become a client. Dr. Banks advises his former psychiatrist Dr. Victoria Siebert (Catherine Zeta-Jones), and suggests that Dr. Banks Ablixa uses a new drug to treat it. Emily tries to kill herself again, but she returns to a normal life with Martin, and sometimes was sleepwalking episodes. One day, Emily kills her husband to death, sleepwalking, and she goes to court. It is declared not guilty but had to go to a psychiatric hospital and doctor Banks meets periodically to assess his mental condition.Dr. Banks have destroyed his career with negative information, as well as his marriage to unemployed financial advisor Dierdre banks (Vinessa Shaw) after receiving an anonymous photo Emily with him. He decides to investigate the case to clear his name and discovers that Emily faked her suicide attempt. His further investigation reveals the evil scheme of the stock market. Side effects most thriller and Steven Soderbergh's best work in recent years. The plot is very similar to Jagged Edge, but updated and use more characters and a complex plot. A reasonable conclusion seems strange since double jeopardy prevents Emily going to court again, but she shall be punished by Dr. Banks assess his mental state.
